Send me a ship and I will explain why I do or don’t ship it.

In other news: just completed (well, semi completed. Technically I have half a game to go!) my most recent playthrough of HeartGold. God, I love gen 2 of Pokemon. I'm not sure if I prefer gen 5 or not, but it's definitely between those two. They've just put such THOUGHT into it, and it has such a good postgame.

(Saying that, though, I like most gens. Gen 1 was the first I ever played and holds special nostalgia value. Gen 3 was the one I played at the most impressionable age, so also holds special value. And gen 6, while plot light at best, introduced some fantastic pokemon. The only one I'm not particularly fond of, really, is gen 4 - and even then Platinum isn't THAT bad.)

In OTHER other news: I have two job interviews over the next two weeks! Both are internships, EG less permanent than I'd like, but they'll give me money and something to do during the day.

Now, how to avoid talking about Pokemon during the interview...

Second gen is great because it introduced Falkner *flies away*

OH MAN I LOVE FALKNER AND HIS RIDICULOUS HAIR. And most of the gym leaders, actually. Although Whitney needs to buck the hell up.

I have a tiiiiiny obsession with Falkner (guess what's my username on DW? I also have shipping comms for him and Morty on LJ and FFNET, haha... and I used to be the owner of his official fanlist. And some other stuff. IT'S JUST A TINY OBSESSION. TINY.).

I'm probably particularly attached to gen II because it was the first one I played all by myself (played gen I sharing a game with my cousin who kept starting a new file every few weeks for no reason), but it always felt like there were so many little touches in it that really made it great. Gym leaders getting some personality, all the lore/legends you could uncover talking to every NPC... really got you into the atmosphere of the game. ALSO CUTE AF STARTERS.

Well, that's pretty awesome! He is pretty awesome, after all. :DD

And yes! I definitely agree with all of that. :DDD I LOVED the gen 2 starters, they were all pretty awesome. I'm less fond of Chikorita, but Cyndaquil and Totodile are both FANTASTIC and grow up to murder everything. :D

(good luck with those job interview, btw! *keeps fingers crossed for you*)

Thank you! :D

Congrats on the interviews.

For the meme:
Flash/Arrow, Oliver/Barry
Jun. 3rd, 2015 08:37 am (UTC)
Thank you!

And, uh... Tiny confession here: we haven't actually watched most of Arrow. I know we should have, it's technically the parent show after all, but we only really got into the whole DC TV verse when The Flash came out and by that point Arrow had about three seasons and we're lazy and yeaaaaaaah. One day, though!

However, based on the crossover episodes...! Well, I suppose I ship them a bit. They're not mega OTP levels, but they're not also completely NOTP. I think they could probably be sweet - or, at the very least, interesting. Plus, I like the idea of Barry getting into relationships with people who can easily pick him up and pin him against various surfaces. ;)

totally get it on arrow

and I very much like the reason! in fact, I think

Barry getting into relationships with people who can easily pick him up and pin him against various surfaces

should be the title of a really excellent fic series featuring Barry with various partners *looks at you?* lol

It does look like it has a lot of good parts, so hopefully someday! But man, there's so much to watch... It is definitely a compliment to the Flash, though, that we still really enjoy it despite not really being that familiar with its parent show.

HAH! Oh, man, I think I'd like that. I'm already well on my way to pairing Barry with every single one of his Rogues, after all...

Good luck with the interviews!

For the meme, how about Selina Kyle/Bruce Wayne?
Jun. 3rd, 2015 08:30 am (UTC)
Thank you!

And oh man, Selina/Bruce. Definitely my first DC OTP, possibly close to my first OTP altogether. I saw them in the Burton films for the first time. And while the Burton films have huge flaws, in my mind their depiction of Selina and Selina/Bruce is definitely not one of them.

I mean, they're just so INTERESTING as a pairing - she's a thief with morals, he's a vigilante with morals. They're both concerned about the world around them. They're both probably a bit too passionate a lot of the time. She dresses up as a cat, he dresses up as a bat... Man. I'm not sure how much sense this is actually making, but I really could go on babbling for days. They just work so well - or interestingly, not sure about well a good chunk of the time - together, and it's just really fascinating to see that kind of dynamic.

So, yeah, I definitely ship them. And no matter how far I go, I think I'm always going to have a bit of a soft spot for them. ^^

They definitely do have an interesting dynamic--the ways they complement and contradict each other. My fave Selina was when Anne Hathway played her in the Nolan films.

Oh, man, that was pretty great too! Thinking on it, I'm not sure if I've actually seen Selina in anything where I haven't liked her...

(I haven't seen the infamous Catwoman film, so that might well explain it!)
