HC_Bingo March Challenge!

I'm still not entirely sure about this, but this is the last day before the deadline and LJ is finally working with me so oh well! A list of 16 recs for hc_bingo's March challenge. Contains many pairings, and probably a few of you!

Title: Can’t You Find a Clue (http://archiveofourown.org/works/3510125?view_adult=true)
Author: Likewinning
Fandom: DCU
Pairing(/s): Jason Todd/Bruce Wayne
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Past Underage
Summary: It's just that only seeing Jason when Gotham's in peril isn't enough. It isn't enough, even, to ask Jason to accompany him on a mission and have him say yes.
Reason Recced: Because… It’s really hot? But, no seriously, this is the perfect mixture of heartbreaking and hopeful and I would definitely recommend it for all your Bruce/Jason needs. You get such a sense of longing here, but also of sweetness and this certain kind of bond that is just beautiful to see. Go read! READ!

Title: Sweater Weather (http://archiveofourown.org/works/3519797)
Author: Nevcolleil
Fandom: The Flash (TV)
Pairing(/s): Leonard Snart/Barry Allen
Rating: Teen and Up
Summary: Barry is wearing Leonard's parka.

He's wearing only Leonard's parka.
Reason Recced: I just love the potential dynamic between these two, and this just captures it PERFECTLY. It’s really hot, and yet still really sweet. And it really shows how Barry is slowly dragging Snart towards being a slightly better person, even if neither of them quite realize it. It just gives me warm, happy fuzzies whenever I read it.

Plus, clothes sharing! Who doesn’t like a bit of that? :D

Title: Ulterior Motives (http://archiveofourown.org/works/240932?view_adult=true)
Author: Astolat
Fandom: Smallville, DCU
Pairing(/s): Clark Kent/Lex Luthor
Rating: Explicit
Summary: Everybody wants to rule the world.
Reason Recced: So, okay, I am going to level with y’all here and state that I’ve never watched Smallville and probably won’t get around to it (I have so much TV to watch already! SO. MUCH). But I do have an ever deepening fondness for the DCU, and sometimes Smallville is the only place you can go for Clark/Lex fic.

And this? Is a MAGNIFICENT example of both a Clark/Lex fic and an atonement fic. It’s really hot, really interesting and does both of the characters involved perfect justice. It’s wonderful seeing them slowly grow back together, and as a result the ending is a beautiful stomach punch that had me smiling on and off for days. Definitely recommended!

And, hey, it’s also got Batman…

Title: Play Forgiveness (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1019279)
Author: Museaway
Fandom: Smallville
Pairing(/s): Clark Kent/Lex Luthor
Rating: Mature
Summary: The call comes in when Clark is drunk on sleep and his face is buried deep in the pillow. "The President requires your assistance."
Reason Recced: Future fic where everything actually works out generally alright, for once. A great look at what Lex could be, if he just stops being evil for once in his life. And also a great look at Clark, CLARK, and all the decisions that he has to make.

Basically, another story where I want to give everybody a gigantic hug.

Title: Powerless (http://archiveofourown.org/works/723756)
Author: Tasabian
Fandom: Smallville
Pairing(/s): Clark Kent/Lex Luthor
Rating: Explicit
Summary: Clark finds himself in the woods, without his powers, and with no idea how he got there. Lex is there too, equally confused. How did they get there and how will they find their way home?
Reason Recced: An unintentional trip into the wilderness forces Clark and Lex to fully reconcile. And by fully, I mean FULLY. Wonderfully sexy, and also brilliantly sweet. And who doesn’t love a good shack in the wilderness story, am I right?

Title: Qualitative Reasoning (http://archiveofourown.org/works/2040387)
Author: ShevatheGun
Fandom: DCU
Pairing(/s): Clark Kent/Lex Luthor, hinted at Tim Drake/Conner Kent
Rating: Teen and Up
Summary: Conner "Kon-El" Luthor-Kent isn't particularly well-versed in owning his mistakes. His mother, Lex Luthor, isn't particularly well-versed in letting him.
Reason Recced: THIS STORY! Oh man, THIS STORY! I know I’ve said that a lot of fics on this list are perfect, but I just keep meaning it. This is a wonderful look at a mother-son relationship, a wonderful look at Conner and a WONDERFUL look at how alwaysagirl!Lex would work out. Plus, contains probably the most actual atonement out of any fic on this list – a brilliant look at how making up for your mistakes works.

Title: After the Asylum (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1901589)
Author: Allowisp
Fandom: Batman: the Animated Series, Batman: Arkham Asylum
Pairing(/s): Batman/The Riddler
Rating: Teen and Up
Warnings: Past Domestic Abuse, Past Child Abuse
Summary: Batman visits the Riddler.
Reason Recced: Okay, so. I LOVE Batman/Riddler, but there is barely any of it. So I was absolutely THRILLED to find this. A beautiful fic set post-game/post-series that deals with the Riddler trying to atone, Batman trying to cope and the two of them trying to work out what they mean to each other. Really sweet and lovely, and contains a depiction of asexuality that made me melodramatically clutch my heart for a bit.

Title: Desiderata (http://archiveofourown.org/works/388720?view_adult=true)
Author: Stereobone
Fandom: Avengers Movieverse
Pairing(/s): Loki/Tony Stark
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Dub-Con
Summary: Tony doesn't know anything about love. He's convinced himself it's for the best.
Reason Recced: BEAUTIFUL.

…What, you want more than that? Loki gets hit by a love spell, he and Tony have to work together to figure out what that means. An absolutely gorgeous look at the both of them, and probably my favourite depiction of how that’d actually work. Messed up and heartbreaking, but also HOPEFUL in a way that practically tore my heart out. If you want to understand why I’m so into this pairing, several years later, I’d definitely recommend giving this a read.

Skeletons in the Closet

Title: you made a slow disaster out of me (http://archiveofourown.org/works/3515210)
Author: Ohmcgee
Fandom: DCU
Pairing(/s): Damian Wayne/Dick Grayson
Rating: Teen and Up
Warnings: Underage
Summary: When you think about it, it’s not so much that he’s a trouble student as he’s just trouble
Reason Recced: So, like, I have a confession to make: I don’t really like underage in general, but I have a soft spot for teacher/student AUs. And this one is just PERFECT. Dick is still wonderfully dorky, Damian is both seductive and vulnerable and it just all fits together in a way that’s irresistible. You get the feeling of why it’s wrong – but, much like the characters involved, you just don’t CARE.

Title: you take more than you need (http://archiveofourown.org/works/3252062)
Author: Randstad
Fandom: The Flash (TV)
Pairing(/s): Hartley Rathaway/Harrison Wells, Barry Allen/Harrison Wells
Rating: Explicit
Summary: Harrison likes his sacrifices to be both intentional and necessary. Unfortunately, his affair with Hartley Rathaway is neither.
Reason Recced: Beautifully heartbreaking. I can totally imagine their relationship going just like this, and as far as I’m concerned this is my backstory for what happened on the show. Plus, it just intensifies my urge to hug Hartley. So win win, really!

Title: You’re Awful, I Love You (http://archiveofourown.org/works/819666)
Author: onawingandaswear
Fandom: Hannibal (TV)
Pairing(/s): Hannibal Lecter/Will Graham
Rating: Gen
Summary: “Yes. I’ve known since the second time we met, when you brought me breakfast.” Will is speaking with more confidence now, like keeping Hannibal’s dark secret was no more of an inconvenience than refraining from spoiling the ending of a particularly intriguing film.
Reason Recced: I’ve unfortunately largely fallen out of Hannibal now, but I found this on one of my forays into fic and I really just had to rec it. Because it’s HILARIOUS – Hannibal discovers that Will knows all of his secrets, but is still willing to date him. Unfortunately, to do so he’ll have to defeat all of Will’s seven evil exes. Definitely a must read, especially if you like Scott Pilgrim/joy in general.

Title: Lesser Evils (http://archiveofourown.org/works/501752)
Author: Tipsybluetips
Fandom: DCU
Pairing(/s): Leonard Snart/Barry Allen
Rating: Explicit
Summary: In the aftermath of Lisa’s hostile takeover, Len is wounded to the point he actually accepts help from the friendly waiter at Charlie’s bar. The thing about accepting kindness, however, is that it grows.
Reason Recced: The first Captain Cold/The Flash fic that I ever read, and one that really helped convert me to the pairing. Wonderfully hot, and yet still beautifully heartbreaking. Another excellent look at what could be, and how various secrets get in the way of that.

It also, in an odd way, helped to feed my love for Lisa. SO.

Title: once you get the feeling it wants you back for more (http://archiveofourown.org/works/2836976)
Author: Spock
Fandom: Men In Black (Movies)
Pairing(/s): Jay/Kay
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Dub-Con
Summary: The last thing Jay ever remembers is the flash going off. Then he forgets that too.
Reason Recced: The fic last yuletide that actually made me put down my phone and go “fuuuuuuuuuck” for about half an hour. The best way I can describe this is beautifully disturbing. You kind of want it to stop freaking you out, but then you also want it to carry on forever. A definite must read, but you should probably have somebody on hand to give you a supportive hug afterwards.

Title: High Carbon Steel (http://archiveofourown.org/works/808143)
Author: 191615311
Fandom: Hannibal (TV)
Pairing(/s): Hannibal Lecter/Will Graham
Rating: Gen
Summary: “I assure you it is merely a matter of coincidence, William.” (Or: Hannibal walks into a stop sign.)
Reason Recced: I probably shouldn’t be taking this prompt as an excuse to rec ALL OF THE CRACK, but oh well. A fun look at just what’d happen if Hannibal walked into a stop sign one day. Absolutely hilarious, and with wonderfully in character reactions considering the crack of the premise.

Plus, as somebody who has walked into multiple signs over the years – yay clumsiness! – the ending gave me a very particular kind of joy.

Title: we're dust in the spotlights (http://archiveofourown.org/works/387865)
Author: rillrill
Fandom: Hunger Games Trilogy – Suzanne Collins
Pairing(/s): N/A
Rating: Gen
Warnings: Murder, Mentions of Dub-Con
Summary: They’re good kids, but they don’t need to see the other side. They don’t need to see what happens to the winners.
Reason Recced: A heartbreaking look at the Hunger Games from the side of the mentors. So much is hinted at here, and it’s beautiful. One line in particular - You wanted to tell her the rest. How the real winners are the ones who die - pretty much broke me, but the rest is also absolutely excellent. Haunting and wonderful, and an excellent portrayal of an area that I often wish got a lot more attention.

Title: let december glow in flames (http://archiveofourown.org/works/613193)
Author: strzyga
Fandom: DCU, Dark Knight Trilogy
Pairing(/s): the Joker/Batman
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Dub-Con, Non-consensual Drug use, Violence
Summary: The Joker explodes from Arkham in a cascade of sparks and fire, rage twisting her freshly painted face into a grotesque parody of a sideshow clown. Behind her towers Arkham, a twisting pillar spun of dust and flames like demons, screaming, ringing in her ear, spinning spinning spinning, and down they go, a shower of glimmering burning rubies crumbling blindly to the brown, dead grass.

Only she escapes.
Reason Recced: I like my Joker/Batman disturbing as FUCK, and this fulfils the requirement excellently. The Joker breaks free of Arkham, and dedicates herself to fucking up Batman’s life while also fucking up her own. Beautiful and haunting, and sticks with you in a way that’ll have you shuddering randomly for hours afterwards. And the ending, the ENDING, is just absolutely magnificent.

Plus, genderswap! (As you’ve probably gathered by now.) I LOVE a good bit of genderswap.
