4. Ahhh, this old one! I've always enjoyed fics about huddling for warmth, probably because they're largely along the sane lines as "sharing a bed" fics. I just like the enforced proximity, and how characters react to that. Especially if they're in denial about their feelings beforehand. ;)

I've never quite got around to writing it, though. Mainly because I'm not entirely sure what I'd do! A surprising amount of my pairings don't feel temperature, or live on the Mediterranean...

5. Hah, another one I love! I've always been very fond of the whole Shag or Die premise - mainly because, again, of the potential for suddenly revealed feelings. Saying that, though, it can be done VERY creepily - so it very much depends on the characters/pairing involved. And as for writing it... I may have, once? Although that was more vague sex pollen stuff, so I'm not entirely sure it counts. I should have a crack at writing it one day, though! Once I've figured out HOW. XD

11. GOD DAMMIT IT'S LIKE YOU'VE READ MY MIND!

As you can probably tell from above, one of my favourite tropes ever. I LOVE fake relationships developing into real relationships, and all the character flailing that goes along with it. I think, in fact, that a good quarter of my recs list probably consists of fic along those lines.

And yet, oddly enough, I've never actually got around to writing it. Possibly because I'm worried about doing it justice. But ONE DAY! :DDDD

You should totally give Skyrim a try, that fandom's full of all manner of share-a-bed/share-body-heat/fake-marriage fics :)

And the Mediterranean gets very cold in winter *hint**cough**hinthint*
My Master's thesis had a photo of the Acropolis covered in snow and my wallpaper on my laptop is one of a snow covered Santa Maria il Fiore in Florence :)

12. I've always been left a bit cold by mind control, umfortunately. Possibly because, if done right, it tends to be linked to non-con elements and that's a major squick for me. I tried to write it once for a Kink_Bingo thing but, as a result of my indifference to the trope in general, I don't think it came out that well. I did get a rude comment, though! So. That was amusing.

16. Again, another trope that I'm generally indifferent to - but, this time, can be done in a way that I really like. It largely depends on whether it's a subset of the "everybody thinks they're dating" trope. If it is, I can quite like it; if not... It tends to annoy me a bit. Because, y'know, people making assumptions about sexuality is a big issue in real life and I get a bit edgy if it's treated casually in fic.

THAT PROBABLY MAKES NO SENSE! But, yes. I've never written it. And I'm not sure how I would, really.

18. HAH! Oh, good old Mary Sue fics. XD I don't read them anymore, luckily you can generally tell what they are from the summaries, but I've definitely read them in the past. And I have, of course, written some myself. Because, quite honestly, who hasn't? Luckily, though, I don't think they're online. Or perhaps unluckily. I mean, I recall my main Mary Sue become empress of the universe...

27. Ooooh, Historical AUs! I do like Historical AUs... Though, as with most things, they can be done wincingly wrong so you have to be careful. As somebody who has a Classics degree and a background in History, I have seen things that make me SHUDDER. But, as long as they're well-researched and don't involve historical people that much (personal thing), they can be done exceptionally well.

I'm pretty sure that I've written a few, though I'm not exactly sure what. Probably 1920s AUs, though. I LOVE 1920s AUs. :D

Ooh thank you for the answers!!

I don't like noncon under mind control either. I do like fic about people slowly coming out of mind control/brainwashing and dealing with that and finding ways to reclaim themselves (ahem, Bucky). But I LOVE fics that explore how certain kinds of manipulation are so brilliant and devious that they're basically like mind control (again not mind control used for sex, but for other things).

That makes perfect sense on 18. I agree, "people think they're gay because stereotypes" would be awful fic, but "people think they're together because they are totally into each other" fic is fun. LOL I read so much slash that I actually just assumed that the trope meant "these two characters are assumed to be in a relationship by others, which makes them have a conversation where they reveal that they really would like to be in a relationship with each other" lol - it didn't occur to me that the trope would include anything else (because I am silly)

There should be more stories about bookloving fangirls who become empress of the universe!

I like historical AUs too. I don't care if they get something a little wrong in terms of like the furniture or the food or something, I just don't like when they totally romanticize the past completely. 1920s AUs are awesome :)

I love ancient Greek stuff. I like Roman stuff too, just not as much as Greek ;) I feel like every Roman AU I've read was an excuse to write slavefic lol. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I think more AUs would be fun. I like AUs where people put Greek mythological characters as humans in various historical or modern settings, but it's hard sometimes not to be like 'but that isn't how the Greeks viewed that character at all!!' lol

7. AH MAN. I think I accidentally rambled about this above, so feel free to pick another one because apparently my reading comprehension is low before tea, but THIS TROPE. I love this trope. I love fake marriages turning into real relationships, and characters slowly admitting their feelings, and being forced to grow closer, and ALL THE GOOD STUFF.

I really need to write it someday. I have plenty of pairings it'd work for, I just need to work out a way to do it justice.

21. I generally quite like Hurt/Comfort! The general themes of it tend to turn up in my fic quite a lot, and I've done HC_Bingo a few times. The one thing I will say, though, is that the hurt part has to mean something. I don't much like horrible pain just for the sake of horrible pain, too much of that and I tend to go find something happier. In the same vein, I also want it to have realistic consequences - if a character has just been set on fire they seen.'to going to gather around a fireplace with their friends and laugh merrily, it doesn't really WORK like that.

So, yeah - as with most things, I like it when done well. ^^

Yeah! I really like the combination of awkward pretend feelings and the real feelings they have as they get closer.
