14. I'll sometimes gather togethet mood music for original stuff, but rarely for fanfic. I love music, but I tend to get too easily distracted by it when I'm writing so it rarely ends up playing that big a part.

19. Um! Good question. For the more complex stuff I tend to write plot outlines in the document that I'm working on the fic in. They're rarely that in depth, usually it's just stuff like "this scene here" so I remember what I want to write next. The most I'll do is write down lines of dialogue I want to include, or major plot points that need to be thought about.

I also keep a lot in my head, but if I actually want to include it vague outlining is the way to go. XD

Oh, original stuff, what kind? *g*

Interesting. :) Also, I'm curious, do you always end up respecting that vague outline?

I don't write much of it anymore, I really should get back into it, but largely sci-fi based stuff? That, or modern day fantasy.

Definitely not. I find it good to have there so I remember what emotional beats I want to hit, but if the story looks like it'd be better if it went in a different direction I'll always roll with that.

2. Any stuff I wrote before the age of 16. I think most of it is flocked now, but damn did I write a lot of embarrassing stuff then. I had some good ideas, but the technical skill was definitely lacking.

(It's less lacking now, but I'm sure I'll still look back at some stuff I'm writing now ten years down the line and be highly ashamed. That's just the way it goes!)

11. Everything?

More seriously, or more specifically because my everything HAS improved a hell of a lot from when 13 year old me was just starting to write stuff, probably my sense of characterisation. I used to write a lot of characters as basically the same, while now I semi-regularly get complimentary comments on my grasping of character voice.

13. Oh god, this is such a hard question! Um. Character voices, judging by the comments. Snappy dialogue, humour and making relatively minor interactions seem meaningful.

I don't write it very often, but judging by the popularity of my darker fic I'm doing alright in that area too.

16. Hm. I'm not sure about haunting, as such, but there are at least a few I keep coming back to. Juni Swan from the Demonata is one, Thaal Sinestro is another. And there are probably more!

10. Silence, definitely silence. I can write with my SO sitting next to me, but otherwise I prefer to be alone too. I tend to get too distracted otherwise!

24. Um, I wouldn't go as far as to say an EXPERT... But I do know a fair amount about things that I wouldn't if I didn't write. The first series I wrote was set in the 1920s, for example, so I know (knew? It 's been a while) quite a lot about 1920s america. I went through a phase of writing for historical canons a few years back, so I know a lot about 16th-17th century clothes.

I try to do as much research as I can for most things, if I'm not already trained in them. And considering that my degree is in English Lit and Classics...

LATE REPLY IS LATE.

16, I... don't know either of these. /o\

10, oh man, I kinda envy that, I can't stand silence and I usually write to music. XD

24, heeh yeah, we sure do gather a lot of weird and/or weirdly specific knowledge, lol. But that's really cool stuff though!

16. I am far too fond of obscure characters, honestly. <<

10. Honestly, I kinda envy the ability to write to music! XD I love writing and I love music, but for some reason my brain just can't mix the two. It would be a LOT easier if it could.

24. It is, actually! And, like, I'll never have any actual use for my knowledge of historical clothes but they're SO GOSHDARNED PRETTY that I can't really mind that. XD

16. Hehe, although that is something I can, sometimes, relate to. XD

10. I can't write to, like, TV or something, but music? YES. Sometimes even at eardrum-shattering volume. Then again, I can't stand silence in general, so I guess that makes sense.

24. But isn't THEY ARE GOSHDARNED PRETTY a good reason in itself? ;D

1. Definitely a few. I've been trying to write a Kara/Max (Supergirl) story for months now, but keep getting stuck on the mechanics of it. And there are a fair few rarepairs I care deeply about, but keep dithering over due to the likely lack of readers.

5. Oh, gosh, there have definitely been a few! I tend to mainly write characters I do care at least a bit about, but lately I've ended up writing a few unexpected characters for exchanges and the like and really enjoying it.

22. A few. Mainly if I won't read them I'll usually avoid writing them. So non-con, watersports/scat, infidelity...

For some reason almost all prompts I find lately seem to fit my rare pairs, so I keep writing ficlets for them even if not many people read them *lol*

I'm the same.

I need to stop getting spoiled by DC and get back to writing rarepairs, I think! There are so many of them that I love and that deserve fic, and some of my favourite stuff that I've written has been for them.

Lately I've been searching for older prompts at comment-fic to find inspiration. A lot of ideas there end up inspiring me to try a lot of different MCU pairings and I'm having a lot of fun writing them XD

4. I LOVE writing Sinestro. His voice is quite far away from mine, but he's such a fascinating bastard to get into the headspace of.
